BIOGRAPHY

Covenant is a central NC based southern gospel/praise music trio. The group consists of members, Tony Deaton (manager) of Asheboro, Teri Moss of Browns Summit, and Charles Scarlette of Summerfield. Teri's husband, Moose is the sound engineer for the group. We collectively have a heart for ministry and we love the Lord with all that we are. We will go where He leads us to minister and worship Him in song. Our music has the message that this lost, dying world is in desperate need of. It is the message of hope that only lies in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

Tony, Teri and Charles write some of the music that the group sings, and we also do cover songs that are popular in the genre as well. If you contact this group for a booking, you will hear some songs you know and some you won’t, but one thing is for sure, you will hear about Jesus in all of it! God bless, and we hope to meet you some time very soon!

Teri Moss lives in Brown Summit, NC along with her husband, Moose. Teri has been singing since early childhood and has been a part of several groups over the past 20 years as well as doing some solo ministry. Teri writes a number of the songs that Covenant sings and gives all the honor for her talent to the Lord. She has a deep love for sharing Jesus Christ in song, with hopes to see others come to know him as Savior, and to be an encouragement to the church. Her husband,"Moose"is also a vital part of Covenant as our sound engineer. Moose has had a number of years in sound school training at the Steve Hurst School of Music in Cleveland TN.

Teri and Moose have been blessed with 2 children, Nicole and Andy.

Charles Scarlette started singing at the age of 3, and his Mom said he would sing himself to sleep.  His life took an un-expected turn at the age of 9 which led to him being raised away from his parents, however he continued to sing.

Charles says: “Due to his circumstances as a young child, music took on a different role in my life. It became my hiding place. At the age of 15 I started singing and playing Bluegrass music with a small band my uncle was in.  At the age of 17 I started singing country. I traveled with country bands until September 1989. At that time my life again drastically changed  when I accepted Christ as my savior.  I never thought that God would want to use someone like me to spread the gospel, but he did and since then I have been singing for the Lord.  "

Charles and his wife, Barbara have 2 boys C.J. and Corey.

According to Charles – “Following God has led us through many doors in the music ministry, and we look forward to where He will lead us in the future.”
